By providing shared infrastructure, the Cluster enables a closer research cooperation between the Thrusts. Two specific research platforms have thus been established: the Carl Zeiss Foundation 3D User Lab and the Karlsruhe-Heidelberg Additive Nanomanufacturing Platform.

The Carl Zeiss Foundation 3D User Lab is located at the Nanostructure Service Laboratory (CFN-NSL). It is part of the Carl Zeiss Foundation-Focus@HEiKA.
